The hybrid event lie

The most common hybrid setup is a single camera at the back of the room and a Zoom link. For the people in the room it's fine. For everyone at home it's a lesson in feeling second-class.

Remote attendees don't need to see the room. They need to be directed, close-ups, graphics, a host who talks to them by name, moments built for the screen and not just captured off the stage.

Treat the stream as its own show with its own director, and the two audiences finally feel equal. That's the whole game.
